It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in Humana of Kansas City's charitable giving program – Kansas City Benefits. This program supports the areas of mind, body and spirit.
Through the Kansas City Benefits competition, a one-time $100,000 grant will be awarded in 2008 to a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Greater Kansas City. One hundred percent of the grant must be used for recipients in the Kansas City metropolitan area for a specific program, with no more than 15% of the contribution used to support the nonprofit group's administrative salaries or consultants' fees.
Special consideration will be given to projects that:
Have outcomes which address the health and wellness needs of the community
Can be completed within a year with the one time grant
Will be able to continue without requiring additional financial support
The award application deadline is the end of business day on June 2, 2008 (date subject to change). Finalists will be required to make a formal presentation before a panel of judges. Announcement of the winner will be made at an awards ceremony in August 2008.
