Humana celebrates giving
Apply now for a $100,000 grant

"Greater Cincinnati Benefits," Humana's $120,000 charitable giving program in support of mind, body and spirit, was developed as an outgrowth of Humana's commitment as a corporate citizen of the Greater Cincinnati area.

Through this charitable competition, a one-time $100,000 grant will be awarded to a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization based locally that is doing valuable work to benefit the people of the Greater Cincinnati area. Two runners up will each receive $10,000 grants.

Humana's donation of $100,000 to a single Greater Cincinnati based nonprofit each year will allow the organization to reach greater milestone goals. The winner will be announced on September 4, 2008 at an awards ceremony.

Greater Cincinnati Benefits offers meaningful funding to nonprofit organizations that serve the community in the following ways:
  • Mind: projects or institutions that seek to improve the educational landscape resulting in higher levels of achievement
  • Body: projects or human service agencies engaged in the promotion of healthy bodies and lifestyles
  • Spirit: projects or civic & cultural development organizations that seek to inspire communities and enliven the human spirit

  • The group must be based in one of the following counties:
    • Indiana: Brown, Dearborn, Highland
    • Kentucky: Boone, Campbell, Kenton
    • Ohio: Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, Warren
  • Recipients of the funded program must be from the ten county areas exclusively.
  • No more than 15% of the award can be applied to administrative salaries or consultants fees.
  • Applicant must submit a grant application, including written proposal.
  • Finalists must make a formal presentation before a panel of judges, in addition to providing an audited financial statement for the organization.
Special consideration will be given to projects that can be completed within a year and with the one-time grant and/or will be able to continue program activity without additional financial support.
